Colourful rebrand catches attention of new markets

A three-year rebrand project has caught the attention of new customers with the most recent launch of Colourful Language - a book of print concepts that brings the new branding together for NB Colour Print.

The rebranding has brought NB Colour Print’s vibrancy as a company to life

Creative and digital agency Absolute has been overseeing the rebranding which is part of a wider goal to transform the world of print.

The print firm has been working with Absolute for the last three years to evolve its brand identity across all aspects of the business.

NB Colour Print’s website was the first area to undergo a refresh, and since then the team have gone on to develop point-of-sale, social media content, stationery, photography, staff uniforms and most recently Colourful Language.

Reflecting on the process, Simon Allman, creative director at Absolute says: “We started by stripping back the brand, bringing out their vibrancy and northern charm. This is not just in the way they talk, but in the way they work.

“As a business NB are as bright and colourful as their print, our job was to bring that to life in their copy, typography and design.”

The brand work was nominated at the Roses Design Awards 2017, which has helped expand NB’s profile within the creative industry.

More recently, Absolute has also been shortlisted for The Drum Design Awards 2019, and is a finalist in the Print Design category.

“Colourful Language is the embodiment of everything we have worked on so far with NB and is a fantastic example of what can be achieved when creative thinking and high-quality print come together,” Allman continues.

The strong relationship between NB Colour Print and Absolute has helped to secure the success of the rebranding. “They just ‘got us’ from the start and to see the new brand being so well received is fantastic,” says Doug Nelson, managing director at NB Colour Print.

“It feels like a new beginning. And now Colourful Language has really put us on the map, we have enquiries from all over the country and even the type of work has changed. Agencies and creatives seek us out because of our strong and memorable brand, they know we can deliver.”
