The company, a long-term supporter of the show, sold just under £30,000 worth of punching kit to existing customer Gilmex International.

Woolwich-based Gilmex provides a wide range of services to its clients and had sounded out the Mobi 500 from Renz to help it enhance its offering.

Speaking to Print Monthly at The Print Show, Dermot Callaghan, sales manager at Renz UK, says the company expects to take this momentum into days two and three at the event and speaks confidently about selling more kit.

“The reason Gilmex bought this machine is that it’s easy to install, easy to train on, and it does the complete range of wires from quarter of an inch up to maximum thickness,” Callaghan says, adding: “It’s the simplicity of the machine that’s the key.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we sold another two of these machines before the end of The Print Show

“I wouldn’t be surprised if we sold another two of these machines before the end of The Print Show. We’ve got people coming specifically to look at this machine. It’s been a good product for us over the years.

“I would say we could have the machine installed and someone trained on it within an hour. And that’s what customers want; they don’t want anything too difficult, or lots of spanners and parts.”
