Print firm bagged by Paragon

With the acquisition of Imprimus in Cornwall, Paragon Group’s Customer Communications UK has inched towards the magic £1bn turnover figure placing it firmly in the big league.

The company has become part of Paragon

The privately owned Redruth-based direct mail and marketing outfit was founded in 1988 and employed around 200 people specialising in print room services, various mailing communications and printing. Imprimus’ turnover of £14m pushes Paragon’s annual figure towards the £700m as it continues its expansion. Earlier this year it snapped up the last remaining part of the once mighty printing group St Ives when it took over St Ives Management Services.

Imprimus were formerly known as Stralfors UK but will now be branded as Paragon Customer Communications with their website already blended into the Paragon family. How much the company paid for the acquisition is undisclosed, but it will have been a multi-million-pound deal and it is an open question as to whether there will be any job losses.

Jeremy Walters, chief executive officer at Paragon Customer Communications UK, says: “The acquisition strengthens Paragon’s position as one of the most trusted and reliable service providers in the UK transactional and regulatory communications market. It underlines our ongoing commitment to be the premier service provider to our customers, offering unrivalled infrastructure, to enable fast turnaround of transactional and regulatory communications by our skilled and dedicated team in an increasingly regulated world.

“We offer a warm welcome to our new colleagues and clients from Imprimus and look forward to offering our combined client base access to a growing range of bespoke market-leading communications solutions.”
