UK first for Print Show as new press is unveiled

Making something of a star appearance at this September’s Print Show is the new Xerox Iridesse digital press that was unveiled in May.

Distributor Xeretec describe the appearance for the first time in the UK (outside of Xerox-hosted or Xerox-attended events) of the press as the icing on the cake for the show.

It certainly is going to be of interest to the thousands of visitors and it has already been creating something of buzz on the continent with its gamut of gold, silver and clear inks, in addition to CMYK.
Xeretec comments: “It creates stunning, never-seen-before effects by mixing silver or gold with CMYK tints to create brilliant, iridescent palettes, bringing a new world of print opportunities to printers and their customers alike.”

The firms says that featuring alongside the new press will be Xerox’s Versant 180 and the Versant 3100, which it describes as, “its leading range of high-end production devices”. The firm is partnering at the show with some of the best known names in the business such as Antalis, EFI, Infigo Software and XMPie.

Katie Farr from Antalis says: “Antalis is excited to be showcasing the brand new introductions to the Arjowiggins creative paper ranges. The Curious Metallics range has been widened dramatically with 15 muted, shimmering colours and The Keaykolour range has a new, balanced palette of 48 timeless colours. We will also be demonstrating the Invercote range, perfect for graphical and packaging applications and Magnecote, a coated magnetic paper.”

Terry Garvey of EFI comments: “EFI will be showcasing the new EFI Fiery DFE driving the new Xerox® IridesseTM, as well as the Versant printers. We have also released a new version of Fiery Command WorkStation, version 6.2, allowing cutsheet as well as wide- and super-wide-format users to unify their print job management under one interface. We are excited to be alongside our partner Xeretec once again for The Print Show, and we no doubt believe that this year will be another great year!”

Douglas Gibson at Infigo Software adds: "We're really excited to be involved in The Print Show with Xeretec again, particularly with this year’s theme. Xerox’s new printer is fantastic and we can’t wait to show off how it works with Infigo’s Catfish and MegaEdit platforms. It really will be worth a watch.”

“We’re looking forward to showcasing how XMPie software can add more value to the printed page. It works with any print press – including the latest Xerox Iridesse Production Press – and, unlike other silo solutions, can be extended and customised to fit any environment. Even highly embellished personalised or customised communications can be ordered online from an XMPie W2P storefront and printed by the Iridesse. That same personalised print piece can also be connected to the digital world by using QR-Codes, NFC or RFID technology.  This is a great way to use print for engagement across the entire customer journey,” says David Baldaro at XMPie.

Xeretec’s Rhiannon Phelan comments: “The Print Show remains a ‘must-attend’ event in the print industry’s calendar. Last year’s show was a real success for Xeretec, and it is always a fantastic opportunity to catch up with our existing customers as well as meet new prospects. We are thrilled to be able to showcase the Xerox Iridesse Press and visitors to our stand can meet with the Xeretec team of specialists, as well as learn about the latest solutions and services from our partners. Our aim is to empower visitors to our stand with as many ideas as possible to enable their future growth.”

The Print Show runs from Tuesday to Thursday, September 18th to 20th, at the NEC, Birmingham.
