Meteor Inkjet, Diamond Dispersions, Natgraph, Foilco, Boxclever Press, Universal Smart Cards, Easyskinz and Meech International have all won accolades for their success in international trade, by achieving substantial growth overseas.

The criteria for the award dictates that in order to be eligible, businesses must have made a minimum of £100,000 in overseas sales in the first year of entry whilst demonstrating year-on-year growth.

More than 200 businesses have been given awards, with three out of four being smaller companies.

Meteor Inkjet, which supplies industrial printhead drive electronics worldwide, was commended for its sales having grown significantly over a three-year period.

Nottingham-based Natgraph designs and manufactures industrial print drying and curing equipment and was given the award for its outstanding performance in the worldwide export of its products.

Sales director Douglas Gray comments: “Everyone at Natgraph is absolutely delighted. We will take great pride in displaying the internationally-recognised Queen’s Award emblem, alongside the Natgraph name, wherever the company travels, over the coming months and years.”

Foilco supplies stamping foils and decorative films to the print industry and was given an award for increasing its overseas sales by 177% over six years, from £832,172 in 2013 to £2.445m in the year to July 2018.

This is a huge honour for us and one that is normally reserved for much larger businesses

Paul Hornby, managing director of Foilco comments: “We were recommended to enter for this award by the Department for International Trade due to the great strides we have made into exporting to new international markets in recent years.

“This award is a tribute to the hard work every member of the Foilco team put in to ensuring we give our customers the best possible products matched with an unrivalled level of service. Foilco will be shouting proudly about this amazing achievement and using it as a tool to help us expand even further into international markets.”

Somerset-based Boxclever Press produces stationery. Sarah Sadler, managing director, comments: “This is a huge honour for us and one that is normally reserved for much larger businesses – we’re joined in our success by exactly 200 other British businesses.

"It was our achievement at growing our overseas sales by 605% in three years that made our application stand out from the literally thousands of applications they received. To win for Outstanding Growth makes it even more prestigious.”

Each winning business is invited to a ceremony at Buckingham Palace and will be presented with the award at their company by one of The Queen's representatives.
