Global company Mead&Co has reflected on the impact printing has on our crucial medical services during the pandemic.

Printing has been critical during the pandemic thanks to the innovations in 3D printing, but also traditional paper and ink methods

Managing director for Mead&Co, Jerry Mead, has commented on the need for smart and reliable printing services when dealing with patients, visitors, and staff in our hospitals and medical centres.

Mead notes the importance of newer technology such as 3D printing which has allowed the medical industry to print PPE (personal protective equipment) such as face shields and even valves for ventilators.

The software firm which supplies dozens of prestigious companies with their ScriptX printing solution ensures companies are able to guarantee consistency and professionalism in all their prints.

A programme such as this has been essential in safeguarding against errors when medical staff are dealing with important data and documents.

The ability to continually optimise and expand processes to ensure a better service is central to the healthcare industry, and over the years technology has largely assisted in that as well as improving patient care

Mead&Co’s ScriptX technology has been used by companies such as E.ON, Ontario Health, and the NHS. The company has noted the need in the medical industry for essential items such as patient wristbands, staff ID badges, and visitor logs, all of which are invaluable to the sector.

According to Mead: “The ability to continually optimise and expand processes to ensure a better service is central to the healthcare industry, and over the years technology has largely assisted in that as well as improving patient care.”

Mead also notes the importance of traditional printing over 3D advancements, thanks to its tried and tested reliability, and says: “It is the simple paper and ink style of printing that has been essential to identifying patients, administrating the correct medical care and keeping everyone safe.”
