Breakfast of champions at Midshire

Managed print service provider Midshire recently hosted a special breakfast event at its Stockport site to help raise funds for the British Heart Foundation.

A total of 26 Midshire employees took part in the fundraising event

The company invited its employees to pay £5 and enjoy a selection of breakfast treats, including sausage and bacon sandwiches, hash browns, fresh fruit and pastries.

In addition, staff were able to enter a raffle, with the winner receiving a voucher for an extra paid day’s holiday. The company raised over £130 at the event.

Stuart Carruthers, IT sales manager at Midshire, comments: “Research has shown that by regularly skipping breakfast, people are actually more likely to be clinically obese, develop diabetes, have high blood pressure, are at a higher risk of having a stroke, and massively reducing their recommended daily intake of vitamins and minerals.

“The work the British Heart Foundation does is vital to both educate people about small changes they can make, and fund research to eventually stop the shockingly high mortality rates.”
