The UK division of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) has spoken out over its decision to exhibit at The Print Show 2018, saying that the event helps printers “foster relationships and secure potential work”.

FSC UK will highlight the new FSC Chain of Custody Standard and Trademark Standard at The Print Show

FSC UK exhibited at The Print Show in 2016 as part of its ‘Specifying FSC in Print’ project, through which it has sought to support companies supplying FSC certified printed materials and organisations procuring them.

The organisation does this by developing resources and template policies to both encourage, and facilitate the production and sale of certified printed materials.

Since the 2016 show, both a new FSC Chain of Custody Standard and Trademark Standard have been published, and the organisation will use this year’s event to highlight such changes to the UK print sector.

Beth Bennett, business development manager at FSC UK, says: “The Print Show 2018 is perfect for us to exhibit again in order to continue our work to support FSC certificate holders and buyers of FSC certified materials.

The event provides a forum for UK-based buyers and sellers of print to come together, showcase innovation, foster relationships and secure potential work

“We will be available to talk to our FSC certificate holders about the new FSC trademark standard and we will also be on hand to guide those interested becoming FSC certified.”

Bennett also went on to outline why the FSC UK values The Print Show so highly: “The event provides a forum for UK-based buyers and sellers of print to come together, showcase innovation, foster relationships and secure potential work.

“The manageable size of the show means you tend to spend a decent length of time talking with exhibitors and visitors, probably more than you would at larger events.

“For FSC UK, the event provides a great opportunity for us to concentrate our efforts and resources on a very critical supply chain in the UK in terms of the use of responsible timber resources.

“Printers hold a significant percentage of the FSC certificates in the UK and one of our primary objectives is to support our certificate holders whilst driving the demand for FSC certified materials.”
