Reducing bottlenecks with investments

The investment of a new Horizon CRF-362 creaser and folder and a foiler has helped Zenith Print & Packaging to reduce bottlenecks at its Pontypridd site.

With turnover growing in its digital department, the firm needed to invest in order to maintain the same quality and speed on finishing, leaflets, covers and brochures.

The Horizon CRF-362 is able to crease and fold a wide range of light and heavy stocks, coated or uncoated in one pass and is capable of up to ten crease lines on a sheet.

Kelli-Louise Johnson, digital general manager says: “I liked the Horizon CRF-362 because it is all in one and compact. It also saves time and money with its speed and set up. It will also ensure the high quality of finished products.

This machine has helped the finishing staff no end, with its speed and accuracy. Jobs are being turned around in minutes not hours

The firm also invested in a retrofittable multi-functional imprinting unit for its Foilant Vega laminator to enhance foiling in its litho department.

Reflecting on how this has benefitted the company, Johnson adds: “With small quantities this was perfect, but this [also] gave us the ability to foil one-off certificates, covers or prototypes for packaging – all with no die costs. It is quick and easy to use which is very important for short runs.”
