Highcon appoints Steimberg as new chairman

Digital cutting and creasing technology provider Highcon has named Amichai Steimberg, the former chief executive of Orbotech, as its new chairman.

Steimberg retired from his role as CEO of yield-enhancing and process-enabling solutions provider Orbotech in March after more than 28 years with the company.

During his time at Orbotech, he also served as its chief financial officer, chief operating officer and president, and oversaw the company’s acquisition by KLA.

“Highcon is well-positioned to provide innovative digital production solutions for the large and growing packaging industry; I am excited to work closely with the talented management team,” Steimberg says.

“Together with strong support from our committed strategic investors, we will provide Highcon’s customers with tools designed to address their efficiency, sustainability and production challenges.”

Highcon chief executive Shlomo Nimrodi adds: “The continued commitment of our board especially in these uncertain times has been greatly appreciated and we intend to keep delivering on the proven promise of our revolutionary technology.”

Benny Landa, the founder of Indigo and the Landa Group, the latter of which is one of Highcon’s leading strategic investors, also praised the appointment, saying Steimberg will help transform the business into an industry category leader.

Landa adds: “His prowess in building multinational capital equipment companies is a perfect fit for our long-term strategy. His experience, together with the leadership of Nimrodi, gives us confidence that Highcon will continue its strong growth trajectory.”
