Anne Sharp of HP has 14 years of experience in the large-format printing arena, with nine of those years at HP

Guiding customers into new markets

What is your own history in the print industry and with HP?

Well, I have been in the print industry for probably longer than I would like to say. I have always worked on the manufacturer side either in channel, marketing, or product management.

For the last 14 years I have worked, for the majority of the time, in the large-format printing arena, and I have been with HP for nearly nine of those years.

What is HP’s most exciting piece of technology currently and why is it worth investigating?

I would definitely say that our HP Latex range of printers are the most exciting area of technology for the large-format print team. Even though the HP Latex technology is not new, as it was first launched into the market over eight years ago, we are still bringing new and exciting developments and enhancements to the range.

We have just launched a new edition to the family, the HP Latex 115 printer series including the HP Latex 115 print and cut, which is perfect for producing applications such as labels, decals, stickers, customisable clothing, window graphics, and many other applications.

The introduction of the HP Latex 115 products expands the HP market-leading portfolio of HP Latex printers with an attractive entry price point, making it easier than ever for newcomers to large-format, and to experience the benefits of water-based Latex printing technology.

You exhibited at The Print Show in October. What was the response like from visitors and what did you achieve from the show?

We felt that The Print Show this year delivered everything that we set out to achieve.

HP showcased the HP Latex 1500 at the recent Print Show exhibition

When we attend trade shows it is always with the objective of being able to meet and interact with our customers and showcase the best of our technology and applications, and enable our customers to come and talk to us about what they need and how we can work together.

HP exhibited at The Print Show 2017, bringing with it an impressive array of its printing press technology

We felt that we met those objectives at the show this year and we are looking forward to working on the next one.

What avenues of business growth are open to commercial printers today and how can HP help?

In terms of large-format print, it is a very exciting time to jump on-board. The transformation from analogue to digital in the decoration market has only just started to ramp up so there are huge opportunities for growth; why not take a piece of this market?

What are HP’s future plans for growth?

HP’s mission is to engineer experiences that amaze and nowhere is that more true than in the world of graphic solutions and large-format print. We want to enable our customers to accelerate their growth and expand into new markets with breakthrough technology for signage and decoration.
